TEC implemented its first school-based education and training program, PEAK, at Top of the World school in Laguna Beach, CA.

1994

TEC launches California's first local government partnership

TEC launched the Community Energy Partnership, a community-based local government partnership (LGP) program, with the cities of Irvine and Santa Monica. The LGP model has since been adopted by the state’s four investor owned utilities.

2011

TEC continues to support public sector energy actions

TEC designed and implemented the original Southern California Regional Energy Center (SoCalREC), a precursor to the SoCalREN Public Agency Programs. We pioneered the regional “one stop” approach to assist local governments and other public agencies to overcome barriers and achieve their goals to reduce energy use.

2011

TEC expands support for public sector energy actions

TEC launches Westside Energy Partnership to build positive relationships among cities, energy consumers, and their serving utilities, and to educate communities about sustainable and efficient energy practices.

2013

TEC designs and launches the SoCalREN Public Agency Program

TEC launched the Southern California Regional Energy Network Public Agency Programs, offering expedited energy services to over 700 public agencies in the SCE/SCG territories.

2015

TEC expands its LGP programs

TEC launched the North Orange County Cities (NOCC) Partnership to help cities and utilities collaborate and empower consumers to take responsibility for their energy use.

2016

TEC focuses on scalable models for DACs

TEC worked to develop a sustainable Advanced Energy Community (AEC) in a disadvantaged community (DAC) within Los Angeles County by creating a zero net electricity community master plan.

2016

TEC expands services across state lines

TEC introduced its Energy is Everything education model to educators in Arizona and Nevada, providing curriculum resources, online professional development, and virtual learning communities to build student STEM skills and introduce green career pathways.

2017

TEC works to ensure statewide compliance

TEC was hired by the California Energy Commission (CEC) to help support the launch and promotion of California’s Building Energy Benchmarking Program during 2017-2019 in response to AB 802 regulations.
